About Small Steps
For families raising a disabled child, the earliest years can feel overwhelming, filled with uncertainty, challenges, and questions about the future. That’s where Small Steps makes a life-changing difference.
Since 1998, Small Steps has supported more than 1,000 children and their families, offering not just expert care, but hope, confidence, and community. Through free, weekly structured sessions, young children are gently guided by a team of professionals to build the physical skills many of us take for granted; learning to sit, balance, stand, and for some, take those precious first steps.
But Small Steps is about so much more than physical development. It’s a place where families find understanding, encouragement, and connection with others taking a similar path, a vital support network during what can be an isolating time.
The early years are a critical window in a child’s development, especially for those with neurological conditions. With the right support at the right time, progress can be truly transformative, opening doors to greater independence and opportunity.
That’s why every session is offered completely free of charge. No family is turned away. No child misses out.
As a registered charity, Small Steps relies entirely on the generosity of donors and fundraisers like you, to continue this essential work, helping children take small steps today, that will shape their tomorrow.
