Information for Families

We realise coming to a new setting with your child can be daunting with lots of information to take in! So we have produced a Parent's Handbook which contains lots of key information that is helpful to know when joining Small Steps.

Sickness

We kindly ask that if you or your child feel unwell then please do stay at home – remember that many of the Small Steps children are vulnerable and one child’s runny nose and cough could be a serious infection for another child.

Travelling to Small Steps

Small Steps is located at 17-19 Worple Way, TW10 6DG and you can find us on Google Maps here.  We have a very small car park at Small Steps, which is available to families on a first-come, first-served basis. It cannot accommodate all families coming to Small Steps. If the car park is full when you arrive you will need to park in a metered parking bay on the street or one of the car parks in Richmond (see details below).  If you are driving to Small Steps and have a Blue Disabled Parking Badge you can park in residents' parking bays in the surrounding streets (but please do not park in residents' disabled bays).

If you do not have a Blue Disabled Parking Badge, there are metered parking bays here on the Sheen Road just down from the Small Steps building.  There is also a multi-storey car park in Paradise Road and a large NCP Car Park in Richmond, which are both about a 10 minute walk from Small Steps.  You can find out more about metered and free parking bays in Richmond on the Richmond Council website here.

You may be eligible to apply for a Taxicard, which offers subsidised travel in licensed taxis and private hire vehicles to London residents disabilities. It enables those who have difficulty in using buses, trains and tubes to get out and about. The scheme is paid for by your local council and Transport for London. To find out more and apply go to: www.londoncouncils.gov.uk/services/taxicard/apply-taxicard-your-borough

Bus - If travelling by bus, there are bus stops just outside our new building on the Sheen Road, where buses 33, 337, 493 and 969 stop. If coming from the direction of East Sheen, get off at Church Road Bus stop here.  If travelling from Twickenham or Kingston direction, get off at the Church Road Bus stop here .

Train - If travelling by train, Richmond station is only an 10 minute walk from our building.  Overground and District line trains run to Richmond on a regular basis.  You can plan your route on the TFL journey planner site here.
