Using technology for good!

At Small Steps, we are a small but dedicated team working hard to deliver the very best support possible for our families. As our charity continues to grow, having the right systems in place behind the scenes is essential, and that is where the support of expert partners can be truly transformative.

We are incredibly grateful to Nextview Consulting, a Salesforce partner, who are offering their pro bono expertise through their 1% Pledge commitment to design and build a CRM system for Small Steps. They are creating a bespoke CRM that reflects how we work, the families we support, and the ambitions we have for the future.

This new CRM will be a game‑changer for Small Steps. It will allow us to communicate more effectively with our families and supporters, strengthen our fundraising, and better understand and evidence our impact. By bringing information into one joined‑up system, our team can reduce manual processes, save valuable time, and build stronger, more meaningful relationships with everyone who supports our work, from families and donors to fundraisers and partners.

This partnership is especially meaningful to us because it grew from a genuine personal connection. The project was championed by Nextview team member Chris Kessler, whose son Charlie, along with his wife Cat, attends Small Steps sessions every week. That lived experience has shaped the project from the very beginning, ensuring the CRM is  designed with empathy, care, and a real understanding of how our charity operates day to day.

The Nextview team came to Small Steps recently, to see the impact of their work first-hand. It was an incredible day and very special for us to welcome them into our sessions, meet the team behind the project, and share more about how this new Salesforce system will support our fundraising, communications, and long‑term sustainability.

The CRM project is being delivered by Nextview’s brilliant UK team, and we cannot thank them enough for their generosity, technical expertise, and commitment. By investing their time and skills, they have strengthened our foundations and helped ensure we can continue offering free, high‑quality support to children and families for years to come.

We are deeply grateful to Nextview for choosing to support Small Steps and for demonstrating what “technology for good” looks like in practice. Partnerships like this show how powerful it can be when charities and Salesforce partners come together around shared values – creating lasting impact for families, supporters, and communities alike.
